What is a Root Issues Group?
This intensive group is by far the most powerful and unique healing event possible. Nothing will heal past hurts more quickly or more thoroughly than this Intensive. It is a powerful way to experience God's promise of an abundant life relationally toward Him, in your marriage, in your family and other significant relationships.
Anger, fear, worry, anxiety, depression, addictions, controlling behavior, selfishness, condemnation, self-reliance are just a few of the painful issues that many couples find in themselves or their partner. In this Root Issues Group Intensive you will heal the source of these destructive issues and find true freedom, healing, peace and joy.
Most professionals agree that these destructive behaviors and emotions (and most other ills) are often linked to painful events and disappointments experienced over the years, especially struggles experienced in childhood. It is hard to see the connection at times because in those early years we are unaware of God’s ideal and therefore easily ‘normalize’ whatever childhood we did experience.
Some, for example, were negatively influenced by what they did receive (i.e. abuse) while others negatively influenced by what they did not receive (i.e. neglect). Whether intentional or unintentional; by sins of commission or by sins of omission, we have all been influenced by those in our past—whether we realize it or not.
Though it is true that our own personal response to these wrongs will make us bitter or better; as children we usually lack the maturity to respond to these hurts from God’s perspective. So we hurt. Even worse—we hurt alone. And it is not good to be alone (Genesis 2:18)--because comfort from others is God’s main prescription for emotional healing. Alone, we develop unproductive ways to cope (as modeled by our own family members) that create selfishness, self-condemnation or self-reliance leaving us more alone—perpetuating a cycle of pain.
This 4-day 37-hour intensive group is the best way to resolve stubborn root issues. It offers couples a structured and focused opportunity for personal healing and relational intimacy. Resolving unresolved hurts, anger, fear, shame, despair and discouragement within a caring, supportive confidential environment, couples quickly stop deteriorating relationships. This Root Issues Group addresses key events (painful and otherwise) in childhood AND adulthood.
These intensives also provide tremendous equipping opportunities for those in the people helping, caregiving ministries (i.e. Pastors, Counselors, Christian leaders).
